Founded in 2005, the San Bruno Education Foundation (SBEF) is committed to helping children receive a great education. Our mission is to promote and support education in preschool through grade eight schools in San Bruno. The Foundation is a conduit providing resources to meet the educational needs of children in San Bruno schools. Our goal is to receive, raise, and distribute money for the improvements of San Bruno Schools.
SBEF Board consists of six to eight community members who represent different schools in San Bruno. SBEF events and programs are organized and implemented by community volunteers. To date with the help of these volunteers we have donated $20,000 to schools in San Bruno.
As we grow, we intend to fund such programs as music, art, and technology. We plan to supplement school budgets to erase deficits, establishing a permanent SBEF Endowment Fund and provide grants for funding curriculum enhancements at San Bruno Schools.
SBEF has donated over $20,000 in grants to San Bruno Schools:
• $8,000 Art in Action/ Art Attack grant to San Bruno Park School District Schools.
-
•$5,000 grant to Parkside Intermediate School to supplement the Media Aide’s salary.
-
•$500 to Parkside for new Library Printer
-
•$1,000 grant to each elementary school in San Bruno Park School District to be used for curriculum enhancement.
